Currently available in Kennebecasis Valley (KV), NB Only

 

KidSing Advanced/Competitive Camps are designed for students in our competitive dance program as well as students interested in more advanced musical theatre training. Choreography for the new competitive season begins with our competitive summer camps. 

 

If your child is interested in joining our competitive program, please contact our office directly for more information. At KidSing, we allow all children who are interested in competing the opportunity to do so and we are very proud that we do not hold try outs for our program and offer competitive training in a fun and enjoyable atmosphere.

July 6-10

Competitive Junior Production

Who can attend? Open to all dance troupes and new students.

 

What's involved? This camp focuses on dance technique and musical theatre performance skills. Each day begins with a jazz, musical theatre or contemporary warm up and moves onto a  daily class in various dance genres. Afternoons will involve a daily dance and creativity class as well as learning of a routine for competition that focuses on expression and dance technique. 

 

What is needed for this camp? Dancewear: Tights, bodysuit, Shoes: Jazz shoes (black or beige), Journal, snacks, lunch, water

July 13-17

Competitive Hip Hop

Who can attend? Open to all dance troupes, hip hop students and new students Grade 3 and above.

 

What's involved? This camp focuses on building hip hop dance technique and performance skills. Students will learn hip hop routines that will be competed in the fall of 2020, as well as participate in daily classes in technique, style, performance and creativity. 

 

What is needed for this camp? Dancewear: Sweats, bodysuit,  tights or shorts, sweats and loose fitting clothing for hip hop style; Shoes: sneakers and jazz shoes; Journal, snacks, lunch, water.

July 13-17

Non-Competitive Hip Hop

Who can attend? Open to all ages for students interested in learning hip hop dance performance.

 

What's involved? This camp focuses on building hip hop dance technique and performance skills. Students will learn hip hop routines as well as participate in daily classes in technique, style, performance and creativity.

Competitive Troupe Contemporary, Musical Theatre and Jazz Technique - Group A

Who can attend? Open to Move, Jump Sr, Jump Jr.

 

What's involved? This camp focuses on technique in various dance genres. Each day begins with a  warm up that focuses on strength and flexibility. Morning technique class focuses on technical skills such as turns, transitions, leaps and jumps. Afternoons will involve a daily dance in various genres as well as choreo and creativity classes as well as learning and working on routines for 2020/2021 Season.

 

What is needed for this camp? Dancewear: Tights, bodysuit, Shoes: Jazz shoes (black or beige), Journal, snacks, lunch, water, yoga mat

July 20-24

Competitive Troupe Contemporary, Musical Theatre and Jazz Technique - Group B

Who can attend? Open to Skip, Twist, Bounce and new students.

 

What's involved? This camp focuses on technique in various dance genres. Each day begins with a  warm up that focuses on strength and flexibility. Morning technique class focuses on technical skills such as turns, transitions, leaps and jumps. Afternoons will involve a daily dance in various genres as well as choreo and creativity classes.

What is needed for this camp? Dancewear: Tights, bodysuit, Shoes: Jazz shoes (black or beige), Journal, snacks, lunch, water, yoga mat

July 27-31

Advanced Musical Theatre (non-competitive)

Who can attend? Open to everyone grade 4 and up.

 

What's involved? The focus of this camp is Musical Theatre Performance. Each day students participate in singing, dancing and acting workshops and classes. Each student is able to explore their individual talents, interests and skills as we prepare a performance for the end of the week.

What is needed for this camp? Comfortable clothing;  Shoes: Jazz shoes (preferably) , sneakers; Journal, snacks, lunch and water.

August 4-7

Advanced Technique Contemporary and Jazz

Who can attend? Open to Middle School and High School aged students. (*Please note all students in both camps this week will be learning the same full school routine but are divided by age to ensure more one on one instruction.)

 

What's involved? During this camp, our students will learn our full school musical theatre production number for competition. Students will participate in dance classes as well as goal setting, personal development and creativity sessions focusing on KidSing’s values of kindness and compassion.

 

What is needed for this camp?

Dancewear: Tights, bodysuit, Shoes: Jazz shoes (black or beige), Journal, snacks, lunch, water.

August 10-14
