Frequently Asked Questions

Classes & Schedules

When and where are the classes held? How often?

Classes are held once a week. A complete schedule by location can be found on our website during registration periods.

Which class would be best for my child?

It depends on your child’s interests. For elementary school aged children, Musical Theatre is our most popular program. This is the ideal choice if your child likes to sing and dance. If your child is only interested in singing, then our vocal program is recommended. Conversely, if your child is only interested in dancing, then our dance program is recommended. Not all disciplines are available yet in all locations as we are still growing. The schedules on our website indicate the appropriate age level for each class.

Can my child try a class before registering?

As we have a cap on our class sizes and many classes fill up, we are unable to offer trial classes. However, if after the second class the child does not wish to continue, notify our office right away and we will refund your tuition.

Does my child have to have previous experience?

No previous experience is necessary to join KidSing!

Does my child have to audition?

No, your child does not have to audition.

What will my child learn?

We have separate curriculums for each discipline; however, every class focuses on instilling confidence and creativity. Children will learn performance skills and social skills.

What is the minimum/maximum age?

The minimum age is 3. Children ages 3 & 4 are eligible to enroll in our “Little KidSing” or "Little Dancers" program. The maximum age is 18. We have many students that start when they are very young and continue through our programs right through to graduation!

When do classes start and end?

Our school year typically runs late September to early June. At the beginning of each school year, we will post a calendar of important dates on our website.

Are classes cancelled on storm days?

Typically, classes are cancelled whenever schools are cancelled due to inclement weather. You will receive an email notifying you of class cancellations. Due to limited time, we cannot guarantee make-up classes for class cancellations due to weather.

Is there a year end show?

Yes. KidSing students will perform a showcase for family and friends during the holiday season and again at the end of the school year (late May or early June). These dates will be included on the school calendar.

What will they need to wear or bring to class?

  • For Musical Theatre, students should dress comfortably and wear footwear that allows them to move freely (no flip flops).
  • Dance students should wear tights or leggings with a body suit or tank top. They may wish to wear a sweatshirt during the warmups. Dance students should also have ballet shoes and/or jazz shoes, however, it is best to check with your instructor on the first day of class before purchasing footwear. Hair should be tied back.
  • Acro students require form fitting tights or yoga shorts and tank tops. No footwear is required for acro.
  • All students should bring water.
